Susan’s passion and background in music and performing arts arises from her family. Her father has directed choirs and musicals since high school, her mother performed with Sweet Adelines, and her brother is also a gifted musician and pianist.
Susan’s history in performing arts began in elementary school where she sang in musicals and played classical violin. Then she switched to playing bluegrass and began singing in choirs. High school was full of choir participation and roles in Grease and The Sound of Music. She attended Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon and was accepted in the talented Oregon State Choir. During and after college as Susan’s relationship with God grew, she got involved in several church worship teams as well as Portland’s own Singing Christmas Tree.
Susan also worked as an administrative assistant in
adult ministries for 11 years at a large church in Portland, as well as
began getting involved in missions. In 2007 Susan had the opportunity
to go on her first international mission trip to Kenya and Israel. She
is now even more ready to serve God completely with the gifts and
talents He gave her and has a heart full of a desire to share God’s
love through the arts.
